Restrict and Lock on your Samsung Highnote™

By using the Restrict and Lock settings on your phone, you receive peace of mind without sacrificing flexibility. This section will familiarize you with your phone's security settings. With several options available, you can customize your phone to meet your personal needs.

  1. Press Menu/OK, press * to select Settings, press 7 to select More, scroll Up to Restrict and Lock and press Menu/OK.

  2. Press Menu/OK to select Voice then enter the lock code. For this example press 9 to fill in the Lock Code automatically. Then press Menu/OK to to select Restrict. You can restrict both Incoming and Outgoing calls or just one. For this example press Menu/OK to select Outgoing Call.

  3. For outgoing calls we can specify which set of numbers we want to restrict, Contacts Only or Special # Only. Special numbers are important numbers that you have designated as being always available. You can call and receive calls from special numbers even if your phone is locked. For this example scroll Up to Special # Only, then press Menu/OK. To return to the Restrict and Lock Menu press the Back key twice. 

  4. With Data Lock on, you can not access the Web. To turn Data On or Off, scroll Down to Data and press Menu/OK. Select On/Off press Menu/OK. The "Disable Vision" warning will appear, press Next (Left Soft key). You can then choose to Disable Vision service on the device or Cancel the request. For this example,  press Menu/OK to select Cancel. To return to the Restrict and Lock Menu press the Back key.

  5. With Picture Lock on you can't access any options under Pictures menu without entering the lock code. Scroll Down to Camera/Pictures and press Menu/OK. Enter a lock code. For this example press 9 to fill in the Lock Code automatically. Press Menu/OK to select Camera/Pictures. You have the option of choosing to have the Picture/Video Lock either On or Off. For this example press Menu/OK to select On and returned to the Restrict and Lock Menu.

  6. When your phone is Locked you can only receive incoming calls, or make calls to 911, Sprint Customer Service, or special numbers. Scroll Down to Lock my Phone and press Menu/OK. Enter the lock code. For this example press 9 to fill in the Lock Code automatically. Scroll Up to Lock Now and press Menu/OK.

  7. Notice the phone now displays Unlock. To unlock the Phone from standby mode, press Unlock (Left Soft key), then enter the Lock code. For this example press 9 to have the unlock code fill in automatically.
