Making and Receiving Worldwide Calls

When traveling on international networks, you can place and answer calls as you would on the Sprint Network, although some additional instructions may be required to place a call. Certain features and services are not available in all countries. For more information on services, that are available while roaming, visit www.sprint.com/international.

Note: Call a number in Canada or the Caribbean as you would a domestic call in the United States.

Press the Talk key.

Making a Call Using Plus (+) Code Dialing:

Press the +/0 key to prompt an example of the following instructions to fill in.

  1. Press and hold the +/0 key and the + will serve as the international access code for your location (+).
  2. Enter in the country code (44 for this example).
  3. Enter in the city or area code if applicable (non-applicable for this location).
  4. Enter in the phone number you are calling (123456789 is the phone number, without the first 0 that is inherent in many European numbers).

Tap Talk to call the number.

Note: Plus code dialing is only available when roaming internationally on GSM networks in the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean.

Tap End Call to end the call.

Press the Talk key.

Direct Dialing:

For this example, press 0 to prompt the appropriate sequence to fill in, using a number in the United Kingdom as the model.

  1. Enter in the international access code, which differs depending on which country you are in (011 the international code dialing from the United States).
  2. Enter in the country code (44 the country code for the United Kingdom).
  3. Enter in the city or area code if applicable (non-applicable in this case).
  4. Enter in the phone number you are calling (123456789 is the phone number in this example, without the first 0 that is inherent in many European numbers).

Tap Talk to call the number.

Tap End Call to end the call.

Press the Talk key.

Making Calls Within a Country:

Dial the number as you would from a local line. For this example, press 0 to prompt a phone number in the United Kingdom to fill in.

Tap Talk to call the number.

Note: Always check the local requirements for placing emergency calls. When traveling in GMS locations, the emergency number is 112. In CDMA mode, the emergency number will vary by country.

Tap End Call to end the call.

Press the Talk key.

Calling the United States from Another Country:

Press 0 to prompt an example of the following instructions to fill in:

  1. If you are on a GSM network, press and hold the +/0 key to insert a + on the screen, or enter in the international access code for the country from which you are dialing (00 the international access code).
  2. Press 1 as the United States country code (1).
  3. Enter the area code (999 as an example).
  4. Enter in the phone number (5551234).

Tap Talk to make the call.

Tap End Call to end the call. Press the End key to return to the Home screen.
