01/06/2010

Easily sync your music files from your computer to your phone.

1.

This example uses the BlackBerry Media Manager to transfer files from computer to device via USB connection.

Before transferring files, ensure the BlackBerry Desktop Software, included in the BlackBerry User Tools CD that came with the device, is installed on the computer.

After installation, connect the smaller end of the USB cable (included) to the USB port on the side of your BlackBerry device, and connect the larger end of the USB cable to an available USB port on your computer.

If the BlackBerry Desktop Manager does not open automatically, on the Windows taskbar, click Start > (All)Programs > BlackBerry > Desktop Manager.

In the BlackBerry Desktop Manager Main Menu, click Media.

2.

Under Media Manager, click Start.

3.

Under Music, click Manage Music.

4.

In the upper left, click the Folders tab to access and view the folders on your computer.

Click the folder containing the desired media files to transfer to your device. Its contents will display to the right.

5.

Under My Devices at the bottom left of the window, click the desired folder in your BlackBerry to transfer media files to. Here, BlackBerry has been selected. Its contents will display to the right.

6.

Select the desired music file, then click and drag the desired file from your computer to your device. Here, Beethoven's Symphony No.9 is being dropped into the third folder under BlackBerry labeled Music.

7.

At the prompt, select the type of transfer preferred. For this example, Copy with no Conversion has been selected. Click OK to continue.

8.

A Copying Files window will open to show the transfer progress.

9.

Once the transfer is complete, the file will display in the appropriate folder within the device.
